Dr Phanthian Zuesongdham holds a BA in international transport management and an MBA in finance and logistics. Before she joined the HPA, she worked with different international organisations such as UNESCAP (water transport division), Lufthansa Cargo AG and Deutsche BP AG as well as at Hamburg University of Technology and Jacobs University in Bremen. At both universities she coordinated many European projects funded by different programmes. In 2010 she obtained her PhD in process management and maritime logistics.

She joined the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) in Jan 2010, where she works in the management office of innovation - process management of the services business unit. As e-Maritime coordinator of the HPA she also is active in many working groups concerned with e-Maritime, ICT and innovation-related initiatives on a national, European and international level. She specialises in process management, enterprise architecture, project cargo, risk management, intermodal logistics (especially sea and air transports) and port management. She has been a regular guest lecturer at diverse universities since 2008.
